The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a publication on regulatory considerations for AI in health.
It emphasizes the importance of AI system safety and effectiveness, making them available to those in need, and fostering dialogue among stakeholders.
AI tools have the potential to transform the health sector by enhancing clinical trials, improving medical diagnosis and treatment, and supplementing healthcare professionals' knowledge.
However, there are challenges such as unethical data collection, cybersecurity threats, and biases. The publication outlines six areas for regulating AI in health, including transparency, risk management, data quality, and collaboration.
