The leaders of AI are forming as Amazon invests $4 Billion into AI startup Anthropic.

Google — DeepMind / Bard
Amazon — Anthropic / Claude
Microsoft — OpenAI / ChatGPT

Amazon's cloud division and Anthropic announced a $1.25 billion investment, with the potential for an additional $2.75 billion from Amazon.
The exact ownership and valuation details were not disclosed. This move is seen as Amazon's response to competition from Microsoft, Meta, and Google in the AI industry. Microsoft has partnered with OpenAI, while Google has invested in Anthropic.
As part of the deal, Anthropic will work on developing technology for Amazon's Trainium and Inferentia chips. Anthropic will continue its agreement with Google and make its technology available through Google Cloud.
Amazon's customers will benefit from early access to Anthropic's features on Amazon Bedrock. Anthropic's AI model, Claude 2, will be used for analyzing a long business or legal documents. Anthropic's customers include LexisNexis, Bridgewater Associates, and Lonely Planet.
Amazon aims to provide a wide range of AI models to retain customers. The possibility of future investments in AI startups by Amazon remains uncertain though. (Read More)
