🔬 AI Detects Patients Pain
Today we review a new AI system that uses computer vision and deep learning to interpret visuals and assess pain

It’s Monday!
A new AI system could help doctors assess how much pain a patient is in before, during, and after surgery.
PLUS: A fresh list of featured innovators!
Let’s Review 👇

An AI pain recognition system shows promise in detecting pain in patients before, during, and after surgery.
Current methods, such as the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Critical-Care Pain Observation Tool (CPOT), can be influenced by biases. The AI system uses computer vision and deep learning to interpret visuals and assess pain.
Early recognition and treatment of pain can improve patient outcomes. The AI model was trained using facial images and achieved alignment with CPOT and VAS results.
The system can be mounted in recovery rooms to assess pain and free up healthcare professionals. The researchers plan to incorporate other variables and address privacy concerns before implementation. (Read More)
